The famous hotel opened its Sacher Pop-up Welt in 2021
Due to the coronavirus lockdown, the Hotel Sacher Vienna had to temporarily close, and their restaurant and café were also shut for many months. However, many ideas were rolled out and implemented during this time – among other things, it was decided to set up a temporary exhibition in the hotel.
This also required a ticketing system that would work both on site and online. In addition, a solution was sought to provide background information to the visitors, as it was not planned to offer classic guided tours through the exhibition.
The content creation was implemented by Cultural Places according to the exact specifications of the Hotel Sacher Wien: both texts and audio were checked and perfected in several steps. In this way, a digital audio guide was created to accompany the exhibition, telling the story of this traditional institution.
An entry ticket was designed for the ticketing system, which is adorned with a picture of Anna Sacher, the long-time hotel owner. Sales figures and turnover can be viewed at any time via the Cultural Places back office system.
The digital media guide is available on the visitors' smartphones or tablets, so the Hotel Sacher Wien did not have to offer extensive guided tours or purchase expensive audio guide devices for only a few weeks. There are also additional images that are not visible in the exhibition itself, such as historical views of the hotel.
The Hotel Sacher Wien could use a flexible ticketing system for its temporary Sacher Pop-up Welt without having to buy special devices or software. Visitors bought the tickets either online in advance or on-site. The Sacher staff only needed a smartphone to validate the tickets. After having closed the pop-up exhibition, the media guide is still available.
