Zrinjevac Park
Not far from the main Zagreb square there is one magnificent park – Zrinjevac park. It’s one of the best places to relax and gets very picturesque in the summer when there are various DJ parties happening there and, in the winter, when it’s Christmas time and everything is decorated so nicely.

Zagreb Cathedral
Every European city has its main cathedral and so does Zagreb, and it’s really good looking one. Its twin towers are a must on every serious Instagram feed. The inside of it looks even more beautiful and is so picturesque with its statues, paintings, and inscriptions in a Slavic script.

Strossmayer’s Promenade
Strossmayer’s, in the Upper Town, is the most romantic promenade in the city of Zagreb, and it gets pretty exciting in the summer. It runs along the remains of Zagreb’s medieval defence wall and you can get to it by a funicular or stairs. We recommend funicular, it’s an interesting experience, even though it’s a short ride.

Lotrščak Tower
While you’re in the Upper Town, check out the Lotrščak Tower. Get up there at noon when the Grič cannon fires as a sign for the bell-ringers of the churches around the city. Check out our Cultural Places App – there is a Lotrščak tower guide that will tell you more about this place.

Even though this place isn’t in the walking distance it is worth exploring – just hop on the right tram. Maksimir is the oldest park in Zagreb, you’ll enjoy the shades of hundred-year-old oak forests. You’ll love it – it’s so calm and peaceful and everything is green.
