New Digital Tour and Memorial Plaque for the Liebenau Camp in Graz

Never forget! New Digital Tour and Memorial Plaque for the Liebenau Camp in Graz

The Liebenau Camp in the South of Graz was a camp where a lot of war crimes of the Nazi era have been committed. To remind of those dark times, a memorial plaque was erected and officially presented.

A digital tour around the area has been conceptualized by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute and the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz and was realized by Cultural Places for web and app. The guide is available for free, shows moving pictures, and provides an interactive map that takes you back in time: an old map of the area when the barracks still existed has been placed on top of the actual one. You can switch back and forth to compare and get a feeling of the damage and cruelty in context with how the city looks nowadays.
