The Flam Railway, Myrdal to Flam — Norway

The Flam Railway is considered to be one of the best tourist attractions in Norway, so be sure to consider taking it in case you visit this part of Norway. It’s a short train ride — it takes only an hour, but it will show you so much of Norway’s amazing natural surroundings, especially the Flam valley and Aurlandsfjord, which is known to be the world’s longest fjord. You will see its snow-covered mountain tops, it’s mystical rivers and waterfalls, and cute farms set in the valley.

Black Forest Railway — Germany

Black Forest Railway will take you through south-western Germany and the scenic region called Baden-Württemberg. Going from Offenburg to Hornberg, you will pass dreamy grassy fields and the cutest villages ever! After this, you will come to what might be even more scenic region on this route — the railway winds through deep green pine forest, and in the end, it gets you the shores of Lake Constance (Konstanz), which is one of the most beautiful lakes in this part of Europe. This ride will take you about 3 hours and you will love it!

Semmering Railway — Austria

If you loved the Black Forest Railway, you will love the Semmering Railway that takes you from Wiener Neustadt to Bruck an der Mur, as well. This hour-and-a-half-long train ride that crosses from Lower Austria to Styria will make you feel like you’re in the real wonderland, especially when you cross the Semmering Pass. In that area, you will cross over 16 viaducts and pass through 15 tunnels, and you will enjoy the most beautiful nature of Austria.

Simmering Railway — Gorgeous Austrian Scenery

Le Train Jaune — France

This short but sweet train ride has been operating for more than a century now, and it takes you through French Pyrenees from Villefranche-de-Conflent to Latour-de-Carol. The route is only 63 kilometers long and lasts for about three hours, but you will enjoy it more than enough — the Pyrenees are just so beautiful. The highlights of this route are its highest station — Bolquère-Eyne, which sits at 1592m above sea level, and a railway suspension bridge — Pont Gisclard.

Cinque Terre, Levanto to La Spezia — Italy

A 40-minutes-long scenic train ride between five colorful and rustic Italian coastal towns is one extraordinary experience! Each of these towns is filled with cute fishing boats, steep terraces, amazing vineyards, and olive groves. Each spot that you see standing above turquoise Ligurian sea is picture-perfect, so feel free to photograph as much as you can.
