Rovinj is usually overrun with tourists in summer and you might not be able to enjoy it to the max during the high season. Summer is hot, busy and crowded. For many Rovinj lovers, the perfect time to visit Rovinj is in September. There are far fewer people, the sea is still warm, and the weather is super nice, and when it comes to the accommodation prices they are far more affordable. The weather in Rovinj is usually very nice in late summer in September – sunny, temperatures up to 28-30 degrees Celsius, the sea is still very warm and nice to enjoy. Nice beaches of Rovinj are not crowded at all and you can enjoy yourself sunbathing, swimming and relaxing all day long without any disturbance. Accommodation prices go down around the end of August and there are plenty of nice old town or seaside located apartments to rent at reasonable prices.
Weekend Media Festival
Weekend Media Festival takes place for more than a decade and is located at the unique old tobacco factory complex in the heart of Rovinj, just across the local port. It is the largest media and communications industry event in Southeast Europe, with more than 5,000 participants each year and providing numerous trendy marketing presentations, lectures, top speakers, workshops and super parties. It is famous of its charming atmosphere in the old factory with a sea view, a nice music playing outside all day long and attracting many tourists visiting Rovinj at the same time, as it makes the city of Rovinj very much alive. Many celebrities like to be there and are very willing to take a selfie with you, the unbelievable sunset that greats you after the program ends for the day, is a bonus.
Old town and St. Euphemia Church
The old town is situated within an egg-shaped peninsula by the sea, webbed with steep streets and small squares, with the tower of St. Euphemia Church marking its highest point. Originally an island, it was connected to the mainland back in 1763 when the narrow channel was filled. Rovinj is a very picturesque town and is considered one of the most Instagrammable places. Its colorful houses are rising from the sea, whereas its steep pedestrian streets are full of art galleries, lively bars and restaurants by the very sea.
